Since most of
our jobs are negotiated, we are able to take a "TEAMWORK"
approach to our building projects. At the conception of each project
and as plans are being developed we work closely together with owners,
architects, consultants and, often times subcontractors to provide
expert analysis and explore the various available options. As the
design process progresses, we apply our "value engineering"
expertise to ensure that the best building methods and technologies
are incorporated to achieve maximum value for our clients.
OUR KEY
PERSONNEL
John G. Rehders,
President
Shirley A. Rehders, Secretary / Treasurer
Having lived in Santa Fe for nearly 40 years, John feels like he
is a "native Santa Fean". Married to Shirley (a REAL native
Santa Fean") for the last 39, they have raised their four children
and now have two granddaughters and two grandsons. Starting in the construction
field in 1971, John has been involved in building for over half
of his life. Starting out as a laborer and quickly moving up to
apprentice carpenter, he earned his journeyman card in 1973 and
was soon promoted to foreman and later project superintendent. Over
the years he has amassed a wealth of knowledge while working with
other construction companies he thought, "I can do this better".
In 1984, he did just that, starting up his own company John G. Rehders,
General Contractor. Having a wide background in all types of building
construction has enabled John to do a broad range of different projects
over the years. In 1999, the company incorporated and added "inc."
to the name. When the company was first founded 27 years ago, Shirley
took on the task of book keeping for the business, even though the
kids were small and everyday life demanding. Well, now the kids
are all grown, but so has the company. She remains committed to
making sure subcontractors and suppliers get paid, making employee
payroll, tax deposits and generally keeping the books in order.
Having a deep sense of commitment, both John and Shirley are firm
believers in giving back to the community, a fact that is demonstrated
by their involvement in Church, Civic and Charity organizations.
All stock in John G. Rehders, General Contractor, Inc. is owned
by John and Shirley Rehders.
Jeff Sanchez,
Project Superintendent
Jeff, a life long resident of Santa Fe, came to work for the company
in 1984. He and his wife Corrina have been married for 23 years
and have two sons and a granddaughter. After starting work as a laborer, Jeff worked
his way "up the ladder" first becoming carpenter, then
foreman and finally superintendent, a position that he has held
for the last several years. His extensive knowledge, work ethic,
attention to detail and excellent relationships with owners, architects
and subcontractors have made Jeff one of the best in his profession.
Jeff has supervised over the construction of numerous projects, including Santo Nino Regional Catholic School, St. Francis Cathedral Basilica Renovation as well as Chamisa Hills Professional Plaza. He is currently overseeing renovations at Cristo Rey Parish.
Paul Valdez,
Project Superintendent
Paul, also a life long Santa Fe resident, came to work for the company
in 2002, bringing with him an excellent resume of successfully completed
projects. Paul and his wife Sylvia have two children and a granddaughter. Having served
his apprenticeship in the carpenter's union many years ago, Paul
has worked his way up through the construction business to his current
position which he has held for several years. His vast knowledge
of construction, "hands-on" experience and excellent report
with owners, architects and subcontractors have made Paul a well
respected member of his profession.
